Shannon House Level II Therapeutic Group Home
and
Red Stone Therapeutic Supportive Housing.
FOCUS Center for Autism opened Shannon House, a DCF (Department of
Children and Families) funded residential facility for five adolescent boys on the Autism Spectrum with severe histories of trauma. We also operate Red Stone House, a DMHAS (Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services) residential program for three young adult men also with Autism Spectrum Disorders and histories of trauma.
As in all of our programs our Milieu Therapy Model of Care is the core treatment approach in these programs. Each home helps their residents to address their clinical issues and to learn the necessary life and social skills that will eventually help them move to more independent living. The residents are also often involved with and benefit from our mentorship program and may also attend or volunteer in our Extended Day Treatment Program. Serving as role models they learn to become an integral part of the FOCUS community.
